FAQs: Résumé Writing Service

Question: How do I get started using your résumé writing service?
Answer: If you have an existing electronic résumé you can e-mail your résumé to info@thederbingroup.com or click here. If you only have a hard copy résumé, you can either fax it or send it directly to us. The Derbin Group will be in touch with you very soon to discuss your project.

Question: Why do you need to see my résumé before you can give me a quote?
Answer: Résumés are priced based on preparation and turnaround time. Seeing your résumé and the number and type of jobs you have held is the best way to accurately price your project. If you don't have a résumé, we will ask you some detailed questions to determine project pricing.

Question: I don't have a résumé. Can I still use your services?
Answer: Yes. The Derbin Group will interview you to create your new, customized résumé. Depending on the complexity of your résumé, we may charge a small typing fee in addition to the résumé writing fee.

Question: I work in a highly specialized field. Can The Derbin Group really write my résumé?
Answer: Yes. The Derbin Group provides expert résumé writing services to clients in all industries. We would partner with you to leverage your industry knowledge to prepare the perfect résumé.

Question: I'd like to switch fields. Can this be done with a résumé?
Answer: The best approach is to have us prepare a functional or skills-based résumé that repositions your skills and experience.

Question: I have some gaps on my résumé, can you help me?
Answer: Yes. In that case, we can create a functional résumé for you. This type of résumé helps minimize employment gaps.

Question: What is your typical résumé writing turnaround time?
Answer: The usual turnaround is about 7 to 10 days depending on the number of clients we are currently serving and your availability for draft review calls.

Question: Can I meet with The Derbin Group face-to-face to work on my résumé?
Answer: In order to give you the best possible pricing and turnaround time, we would work with you by telephone and e-mail exclusively. This approach has worked extremely well for the hundreds of résumé clients we have served to date.

Question: Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
Answer: Yes. We offer daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. We work by appointment so that you would receive undivided attention during our scheduled calls.

Question: Can I see some examples?
Answer: Sure. Just send us an e-mail or give us a call to request some samples. All samples are proprietary products of The Derbin Group.

Question: How many rounds of revisions do I get?
Answer: On average we prepare three rounds of résumé revisions. We would write additional drafts as needed to deliver the highest quality résumé to you.

Question: What forms of payment do you accept?
Answer: Once you have received an invoice from us, please click here to make a PayPal, credit card or debit card payment. For new clients we also accept cashier's checks and money orders. For repeat clients we accept either online payment or a personal check.

Question: What software do you use?
Answer: We use Microsoft Word exclusively.
